Americans Say No Big Changes in Their 2022 Financial Picture

January 19, 2023

Even if you haven’t experienced broad, sweeping changes in your financial landscape, it’s valuable at least once a year to set up a meeting with your financial professional. During this meeting, you can review things such as your overall savings, how you’re tracking toward retirement, and your current investing strategy.

Even if nothing has changed much on your end, it’s possible that new programs, state laws, or federal changes may impact your current strategy.

One recent study completed by Credit Karma found that 68% of Americans said their finances stayed the same or didn’t change in 2022.

Of those people who responded, the biggest mistake they most commonly cited was failing to save money. 40% of respondents said they did not save enough money throughout 2022 and 35% made said they indulged in bad habits such as losing money in cryptocurrency investments, overpaying for rent, and failing to stick to a budget.

No matter where you’re at financially, don’t waste too much time beating yourself up for the decisions of the past. Working with a knowledgeable team can help you revise your existing financial plan to ensure you’re covered across the board.

If it’s been some time since you last revisited your financial goals, now is the perfect opportunity to meet with our team of financial professionals. If you haven’t yet established a financial plan and investing strategy, we will assist you with this. If you already have a plan that hasn’t been updated in some time, we can revisit this and align it with your personal goals.
